Our Story
ABOUT RHYNO
THE STORY STARTED BEFORE THE WATCHES
The RHYNO story began in 1999 at the National Training Center in California.
While serving in the U.S. Army as an avionics technician, founder Rico Adams created The Rhyno Outfit — a name born years before it would ever appear on the dial of a watch.
After leaving the military, an interest in mechanical watches grew from collecting and trading into something more ambitious: the desire to build one.
In 2014, that idea became RHYNO.
Beginning with two prototypes and an aviation-inspired design called the Rubicon, RHYNO entered the watch industry through Kickstarter. The early response proved there was an audience for watches that didn’t look or feel like everything else on the market.
From there, RHYNO grew independently.
Over the following decade, approximately 2,500 RHYNO watches were produced and delivered to customers and collectors around the world. New collections followed, designs became more ambitious, and the brand developed a community that would become an important part of its story.
But RHYNO was also learning.
Every watch, every movement, every material and every production run contributed to a deeper understanding of what RHYNO should ultimately become.
A NEW ERA
Today, RHYNO is entering the most ambitious stage of its evolution.
The military and aviation influence remains, but the execution is changing.
Forged carbon. Titanium. Advanced case architecture. Open-worked construction. Swiss mechanical movements. Specialized RHYNO calibers.
Rather than producing watches simply to expand a collection, the new RHYNO is focused on developing distinct mechanical platforms and permanent design identities that can evolve for years.
Collections such as Rubico, Rocco and Silhouette represent that next generation — watches informed by more than a decade of independent experience while looking firmly toward what comes next.
RHYNO didn’t begin in a Swiss manufacture.
It began with an American soldier in the California desert, a name, and an idea that eventually became a watch company.
More than 25 years after the name was created and more than a decade after the first RHYNO watches reached collectors, that idea continues to evolve.
The next chapter is being built now.
